Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Lucidist („we“, „our“, or „the app“) handles your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience using our addiction recovery tracking application.
Information We Collect
Data You Provide
When you use Lucidist, you may choose to enter the following information:
- Names of addictions you wish to track
- Recovery start dates and clean start dates
- Event logs including cravings and relapses with timestamps
- Personal notes and reflections
- Intensity ratings for cravings
- Custom images from your photo library or generated through AI
How Your Data is Stored
All information you enter into Lucidist is stored locally on your iOS device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This means your personal recovery data remains under your direct control.
No External Communication
Lucidist does not communicate with any external servers or services. The app operates entirely on your device without requiring an internet connection. The only exception is when you explicitly enable iCloud synchronization in the app settings, which uses Apple’s secure infrastructure to sync data between your own devices.
iCloud Synchronization
Optional Cloud Sync
Lucidist offers optional iCloud synchronization that you can enable in the app settings. When enabled:
- Your data is synchronized across all your Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID
- Data is encrypted and transmitted securely through Apple’s iCloud service
- Synchronization happens automatically in the background
- You can disable this feature at any time through the app settings
Data Security with iCloud
When iCloud sync is enabled, your data benefits from Apple’s security measures including:
- End-to-end encryption for sensitive data
- Secure authentication through your Apple ID
- Data redundancy across Apple’s secure data centers
Photo Library Access
Lucidist uses Apple’s PhotosPicker API, which means the app never has direct access to your photo library. When you choose to add a custom image, iOS presents a system interface where you select the specific photo you want to use. Only the photo you explicitly select is shared with the app. This approach ensures:
- The app cannot browse or scan your photo library
- Only the single photo you choose is transferred to the app
- Selected images are stored locally within the app’s sandbox
- No photo data ever leaves your device
AI Image Generation
Lucidist integrates with Apple’s Image Playground service for AI-generated images. When you use this feature:
- Image generation requests are processed through Apple’s on-device AI services
- Generated images are stored locally within the app
- No image data or prompts are sent to third-party services
What We Don’t Do
Lucidist is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not:
- Collect analytics or usage statistics
- Track your behavior or app usage patterns
- Share your data with third parties
- Display advertisements
- Require account creation or registration
- Access your data for any purpose
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device(s) for as long as you have the app installed. To delete all your data:
- Uninstall the app from your device(s)
- If iCloud sync was enabled, data will be removed from iCloud after uninstalling from all devices
You can also delete individual addictions and events directly within the app at any time.
Children’s Privacy
Lucidist does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The app is intended for users who can legally consent to data collection in their jurisdiction.
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data in Lucidist:
- Access: View all your data directly in the app
- Modification: Edit or update any information at any time
- Deletion: Remove individual items or all data
- Portability: Your data remains on your devices
Applicable Data Protection Laws
Lucidist complies with the following data protection regulations:
- EU (GDPR): Processing based on your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- California (CCPA/CPRA): Rights include access, correction, deletion, and opting out of the sale of personal data (no sale occurs).
- Brazil (LGPD): Processing based on consent, providing similar rights as GDPR.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will be indicated by the revised „Last Updated“ date at the top. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
